2016 Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion Details – One of the hobby’s most successful brick-and-mortar promotions is gearing up for another year. Renewing hobby shops have been contacted directly. New shops wanting to participate in the promotion (and why wouldn’t you) are encouraged to contact Panini via email at pod@paninipod.com before August 20th, 2016.
A proven opportunity to increase incremental sales at point of purchase, Panini’s Director of Sales, Kevin Haake stated, “. . . 85% of the participating shops last year admitted that customers bought extra packs to participate in the promotion.”
Hobby Marketing Manager, Tracy Hackler was quoted as saying, “The 2015 Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion included more than 600 hobby shops. This marks the 16th consecutive year that the NFL Player of the Day program has given an NFL card collector the chance to spend the day with an NFL player.”
The start of the 2016 NFL Player of the Day (POD) Promotion starts in mid-September and runs through November 30th. Key to the success of this program has been the support Panini provides participating stores with a wide variety of incentives and marketing material.
2016 Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion Details – What You Get
All participating hobby shops will receive a FREE, all inclusive, merchandising kit to participate in the promotion. The in-store promotion is for a 32-day period which must take place from mid-Sept. through November 30th, 2016. The kit includes promotional material, t-shirts and over 100+ daily and weekly prizes.
In addition all stores receive a Grand Prize (autographed card) to award their in-store winner. The only requirements are to display the promotional poster and/or counter card, run the program, submit the name of the store winner into the national sweepstakes and complete a short evaluation form at the end of the program.
2016 Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion Details – How to Play
Step 1 – Customer can enter by purchasing a pack of 2016 Panini NFL Cards. This includes such popular brands as Prestige, Donruss Elite, Classic, Score, Certified, Absolute and many others.
Step 2 – To win, the customer must open a pack they have purchased in front of a store employee. If they “pull” the highlighted Panini NFL Player of the Day or the Wild Card (TBD) they win a prize.
Step 3 – Four times during the promotion the hobby shop will randomly select one daily winners as a weekly prize winner and award a prize package from the items in the merchandise kit.
Step 4 – At the conclusion of the 32-day promotion, the shop randomly selects one of its four weekly winners as the Panini NFL Player of the Month winner. They award them the grand prize (autographed card) and additional prizes from the kit.
Step 5 – Each hobby shop submits their grand prize winner into national sweepstakes.
2016 Panini NFL Player of the Day Promotion Details – National Sweepstakes
Following the conclusion of the promotion, all monthly winners are entered into a national sweepstakes. The winning collector and their hobby shop, will receive a VIP day with an NFL player from their local market.
In addition, the collector will receive:
- A private party at their home with the athlete
- A shopping spree at their hobby shop
- The privilege of being responsible for their hobby shop being able to host the athlete for a FREE in-store signing session.
