2017 NFL Rookie Tracker: Week 3 – Do we already have a ROY lock? – Quarterbacks

Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans (1st Round, 12th Overall, Clemson) – The Texans put up a tremendous fight against the New England Patriots this weekend and despite the 36-33 loss, Watson once again showed he’s ready for this level of competition; finishing the day 22-of-33 for 301 yards with a pair of touchdowns. He also threw two picks and was sacked twice for a passer rating of 90.6. He also rushed for 41 yards on 8 carries but also coughed the ball up twice for a total ofĀ four turnovers. Ouch!

2017 NFL Rookie Tracker: Week 3 – Do we already have a ROY lock? – Running Backs

Kareem Hunt, Kansas City ChiefsĀ (3rd Round, 86th Overall – Toledo) – Hunt once again ran roughshod over the opposing defense leading all NFL rushers in yards with 172. He averaged 10.1 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown in the the Chiefs 24-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings (2nd Round, 41st Overall – Florida State) – Cook finished in the Top 10 of all NFL rushers in week three.Ā His 97 yards on 27 carries (3.6 YA) with one touchdown helped the Vikings in their 34-17 win over Tampa Bay. He also caught five passes out of the backfield for an additional 72 yards.

Tarik Cohen, Chicago Bears (4th Round, 119th Overall – North Carolina A&T) – Cohen had another impressive day running as the alternate to Jordan Howard who himself had a big day (138 yards, 23 carries, 2 TDs). Cohen had a 73-yard touchdown run called back for stepping out-of-bounds. However, he still finished the day with 78 yards on 12 carries (6.5 YA) and also chipped in another 24 yards on four receptions in the Bears 23-17 surprise win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2017 NFL Rookie Tracker: Week 3 – Do we already have a ROY lock? – Other Notable RCs

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers (1st Round, 8th Overall – Stanford) – 117 yards from scrimmage on four carries for 16 yards and nine receptions for 101 yards. (34-13 loss, Saints)

Leonard Fournette, Jacksonville Jaguars (1st Round, 4th Overall – LSU) – 80 yards from scrimmage on 17 carries for 59 yards (3.5 YA) with one touchdown, three catches for 21 yards. (44-7 win, Ravens)

Joe Mixon, Cincinatti Bengals (2nd Round, 48th Overall – Oklahoma) – 62 yards, 18 carries (3.4 YA), three receptions, 39 yards. (24-27 loss, Packers)
