Complete Guide to the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention

The following promotions are available to all attendees of the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention.

 Beckett Media will once again be running it’s very popular Beckett Scavenger Hunt! Collect different 10 Beckett cover promo cards from 10 different partners on the show floor. Beckett cover promos include: Aaron Judge Cody Bellinger Kris Bryant Ken Griffey Jr Michael Jordan and other greats!

Get your first promo is available at the Beckett booth (#866) along with the list of your Scavenger Hunt destinations. Once you collect all 10 Beckett cover promo cards, return to the Beckett booth and receive Beckett’s first-ever Sketch Metal Promo Set! With every metal promo set, one will include a player autograph! A total of 400 sketch metal promo sets available, and given out throughout the show:

• 100 on Thursday
• 125 on Friday
• 125 on Saturday
• 50 on Sunday

In addition to the FREE Case Break of 2017 Platinum Elite Baseball, Onyx Authenticated will be offering a redemption program this year as well. Simply bring $100 worth of Onyx product to their booth an receive a FREE autographed card of a top baseball product.

Panini America is once again offering a robust wrapper redemption program. The company will slowly be releasing details and card images leading up to the show. Here is a look at a very small part of the overall set Panini has in store for National attendees.

Panini will also be hosting a series of Box Wars throughout the show.  Collectors who participate in Box Wars at the Panini America booth will have the chance to win a coveted Panini Black Box as well as high-end boxes of Panini America product. Also, the winner of the 1 p.m. 2017 Pantheon Football Box War will receive a ticket to Panini America’s exclusive National VIP Party on Saturday night! See the schedule below.

Live Redemption Trade-Up Program

Back by popular demand for the sixth straight year, the unique initiative will be conducted live at the Panini America booth and will afford those collectors in attendance holding multiple outstanding redemption cards FOUR MONTHS OLD OR OLDER AND ALREADY PENDING IN THE PANINI AMERICA REDEMPTION SYSTEM the opportunity to trade them in for a card or cards of higher value. Purchase (1) 10-box case of 2017 Super Break Pieces of the Past and receive a Limited Edition 1-of-1 Foil/Glossy Parallel card.

Similar to last year’s program, collectors can find special show-exclusive refractors only found at the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention. The cards will utilize a prism foil pattern on chrome stock on the 2017 Bowman design. Eack pack will contain four exclusive NSCC cards.

Subjects include elite prospects, top stars, retired greats and more. Collectors can expect to find rookie sensations Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger, as well as retired stars such as Derek Jeter and Sandy Koufax.

The 50-card checklist will also feature a limited number of autographed cards, and low-numbered parallels including, but not limited, to Gold Refractors numbered to 50, and a Black Refractors numbered to 1-of-1.

Collectors can get the wrapper redemption packs at the Topps booth by opening select hobby boxes in front of a Topps employee. All Topps 2017 baseball hobby boxes are included in the program except Topps Opening Day, MLB Sticker Collection, and Topps Bunt. Collectors can also use 2017 Topps UFC Knockout and 2017 Topps MLS hobby boxes as part of the wrapper redemption program.

Upper Deck

Upper Deck will once again be hosting a series of wrapper redemption programs. Including the always popular Upper Deck Prominent Cuts set and a Chicago Legends set.

Prominent Cuts
This year’s Prominent Cuts set features 20-Cards. Fans can find both Prominent Cuts cards, which feature a variety of personalities from various sports and NHL Top Shelf Rookie cards, of the prospects this season in Upper Deck wrapper redemption packs. Randomly inserted into these packs are incredibly limited autograph cards as well as one-of-one cut autograph cards from Chicago legends! 

To receive one (1) 2017 Upper Deck Wrapper Redemption pack collectors just need to purchase:

• Ten (10) packs of 2016-17 NHL Upper Deck Series Two or 2016-17 NHL Fleer Showcase
• Five (5) packs of 2016-17 NHL Upper Deck ICE or 2016-17 NHL SP Authentic.

To receive three (3) 2017 Upper Deck Wrapper Redemption packs collectors just need to purchase one pack of 2016-17 NHL Ultimate Collection or 2016-17 NHL Premier.

These packs must be purchased from a Certified Diamond Dealer who will provide collectors with an Upper Deck issued voucher for the redemption program. The program will begin at the start of the show each day and run as long as supplies last. Collectors can take advantage of the promotion up to four times per person, per day.

Chicago Legends
Collectors who purchase any five (5) packs of 2015-16 NHL Upper Deck product during the course of the show can score a limited-edition Chicago Legends card. Upper Deck selected some of the best names in the Windy City to be a part of this promotion with Bobby Hull, Jonathan Toews, MJ, Patrick Kane and Stan Mikita being a part of this promotion!

Topps VIP Party

Collectors who choose to attend the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention as a VIP, can choose from three available packages, each with different levels of perks. These include: exclusive trading card sets, free autographs and more. Complete details can be found at www.NSCCShow.com.

All VIPs are invited to attend the Topps VIP Reception & Sneak Peek. Grab a plate, eat and get in line for your opportunity to meet athletes and get FREE autographs. This event starts Wednesday, July 26th, at 2:30pm to 4pm CST, and you must be a credentialed VIP to attend and participate.

FREE autographs guests for this year are Ron Duguay, Nate Archibald and Jose Canseco. 

Autograph Guests

Exclusive Trading Card Sets

Upper Deck will be issuing a special 5-card VIP Prominent Cuts set. Images have not yet been released but the checklist is as follow.

• VIP-3 – LeBron James
• VIP-4 – Ben Simmons
• VIP-5 – Patrick Kane

Topps will be offering VIPs an exclusive, five-card set based on the company’s 1987 Topps  design. It features legendary players including: Nolan Ryan, Ted Williams, Johnny Bench, Ken Griffey Jr. and Cal Ripken Jr.

Panini will be issuing a 10-card, multi-sport set featuring ONLY rookies! This set will be available via a redemption coupon that will be inserted into the VIP promo bags. Collectors can take that coupon to the Paninni America booth to receive their limited edition set.

Once again, case breaking takes center stage at the Mike Berkus Main Stage. The Main Stage, was a vision of  now deceased, organizer and promoter, Mike Berkus. The Main Stage has become a focal point of the National. This is your chance to participate and learn about this great collecting option. Dozens of case breakers will be exhibiting and running breaks throughout the show.

The National Case Breaking Pavilion hosted by RippingWax.com, will feature several thousand square feet of exclusive space for breakers.

The stage itself will feature professional lighting and three surrounding 70-inch video screens complete with full audio. The National Case Breaking Pavilion will feature five full days of case breaking activities. These activities will include Grand Opening Ceremonies, Sports Celebrity Appearances and much more.

Hosts of GoGTSLive – The Hobby’s Web Show, Rob Bertrand & Ivan Lovegren will once again serve as emcees providing attendees an entertaining mix of trivia contests, prize giveaways, interviews with industry personnel and much more! Not for the budget conscious collector but instead a high-rolling affair for collectors and retailers with deep pockets. The venue is almost always a secret until the last minute and this year’s high class affair will be no different.

So just how can you attend this invite only event? If things hold true to past years, collectors purchasing $7,500 worth of select Panini trading card products on the show floor, are automatically eligible to attend. While that might seem like a steep price, those willing to step up to the plate in past years have been rewarded with a 5-star dining experience, music, entertainment, free product and the opportunity to mix and mingle with high-profile celebrity athletes. Collectors attending the National on Saturday, July 29th, will be sure to want to stop by the Mike Berkus Main Stage at 3pm. There, 16 lucky participants will be randomly chosen, via raffle ticket, to take part in the first ever, National Set Collation Contest. Participants will face-off in a playoff elimination format.
