Future Watch: Andrew Copp Hockey Rookie Cards, Jets – When Andrew Copp turned pro with the Winnipeg Jets he left behind a solid college career at the University of Michigan. In his three seasons playing for the Wolverines he appeared in 107 games logging 40 goals and 41 helpers. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan the American-born center has his sights set on the National Hockey League.

The former captain earned All-Big Ten second team honors at Michigan. Heading into this season he was a long shot to make the big club with the Jets. At 6′-“1, 205lbs he’s very noticeable out on the sheet. Last year he got a one-game taste, but this year he made the club out of training camp.

Michigan stressed a strong two-way game and the 20-year-old has that. He’s excelled on defense and in his first 39 games he’s managed to get four points but for now at least, he’s playing a role that doesn’t allow a lot of scoring opportunities.

All eyes have been on Copp since he graduated from the National Team Development program playing for Team USA for two seasons. The Jets drafted him 104th overall in 2013 and three short years later he’s living out his dream.

Copp has a Young Guns base rookie and Canvas parallel in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. If you’re looking for something different he has rookies in 2015-16 Black Diamond Hockey as well. Either way he’ll be collectible for years to come.

As he gets older and more mature his offensive game will emerge. You can’t rush that. Collectors will have to take a wait and see approach.
