Future Watch: Cody Kessler Rookie Football Cards, Browns – The long-suffering Cleveland Browns went out and acquired NFL free agent Robert Griffin III, in the off-season, in hopes of turning their franchise fortunes around. However, an early season injury to the former Redskins’ quarterback, thrust rookie Cody Kessler into the starting position and the spotlight.

Cody Kessler was selected in the third round with the 93rd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Far from an afterthought, Kessler is an experience quarterback that played in a high-profile NCAA program for the USC Trojans. Kessler was redshirted in 2011 and in 2012 he was the backup to Matt Barkley.

The 2013 Las Vegas Bowl MVP and former USA Today High School All-American put up solid numbers as a three year starter. He totaled 10,339 yards with 88 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions on 851-of-1261 passing for a completion percentage of 67.5 and a passer rating of 156.4%.

NFL serviceable quarterbacks like Kessler are a prime commodity. He has run the team’s offense consistently with solid game management. Coming from a high-profile program like USC, Kessler has several prospect themed football cards from draft pick related products. These include those produced by Panini, Leaf and Sage. At this point in the collecting season, Kessler is heavily featured in numerous NFL licensed football card products released by Panini America.

Prices for Kessler’s NFL licensed rookie football cards should continue to increase on the secondary market with the more reps he gets. Demand will only grow if he performs well and is given other opportunities throughout the 2016 NFL season.
