Future Watch: Connor Brown Rookie Hockey Cards, LeafsFuture Watch: Connor Brown Rookie Hockey Cards, Leafs – Connor Brown is a talented forward who’s currently playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. His story is an interesting one for sure. He was drafted 156th overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Many thought he’d go before then since he had 69 points and 128 points in his last two seasons with the Erie Otters from 2012-2014.

However, on that Erie team, Brown benefited by being surrounded with some now famous teammates like Connor McDavid (first overall pick in 2015) and Dylan Strome (third overall pick in 2015). Fair or not, a lot of Brown’s success was explained away because he played with two extremely talented teammates.

In 110 regular season AHL games with the Toronto Marlies the six foot right winger, scored 32 goals and tallied 90 points. That includes 13 points in 20 playoff games. He did play at the NHL level last year seeing action in 13 total games and putting up 7 points. In six games this year he only has one point but he was getting that playing on the fourth line and that’s not his game.

He just got promoted to third line duty where he can play with more offensively minded players and then he can better prove his worth to the team. He has a great hockey sense and he can be dynamic on the power play. Last season he had four points on the power play. To date, he’s gotten just four seconds of power play time. Some of his new teammates have taken that potential power play time away but he’ll likely cash in when he gets his opportunity.

Connor Brown’s NHL licensed rookie cards can be found in the following Upper Deck hockey products:

He has also been confirmed as being on the 2016-17 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns Checklist as well.

Look for Brown’s points to expand in the coming weeks. He’s a fun player to watch and could be a smart one to collect.
