Future Watch: Dak Prescott Football Rookie Cards, Cowboys – With the recent injury to Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo, the team will rely on its fourth round draft pick, Dak Prescott, to lead the team on opening day. Prescott is one of a handful off rookie quarterbacks who will find themselves under center this coming weekend when the NFL kicks off its regular season.

Prescott was the 145th overall selection (4th round) in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was a four-year starter for Mississippi State. He racked up numerous school records and finished his senior year ranked third in SEC history for total yards and fourth in total touchdowns.

His NFL Draft Profile states: “Dallas had long been rumored to have preferred Prescott as a backup option to Tony Romo. There are physical, athletic, and leadership traits comparable to Tim Tebow, but Prescott is vastly more pro-ready as a passer. He’s an ideal backup as he continues to work on overall consistency, but he’ll bring a dynamic element if his name’s ever called.” – Mark Dulgerian
