Future Watch: Domingo Acevedo Rookie Baseball Cards, YankeesFuture Watch: Domingo Acevedo Rookie Baseball Cards, Yankees – Domingo Acevedo is a right-handed pitching prospect in the New York Yankees system. He signed at the age of 19 in 2013. At 6′-7″ and now, somewhere north of 200 pounds this guy can bring the heat.

Working his way through the Yankees farm teams he’s now pitching for the Tampa Yankees in High-A ball. In 50 innings he’s fanned 54 batters with a respectable 1.27 WHIP. These are good numbers in his first 10 games at this level. Soon he will make yet another jump based on his measurables and the fact that he was once clocked at 103 MPH.

Right now he’s working on mastering his other pitches, besides the fastball, and concentrating on throwing them for strikes on a consistent basis.

Domingo Acevado has a Chrome Prospect Autographed card in 2016 Bowman Baseball, card #CPA-DA. Something tells me they needed some extra cardboard to fit him in the frame.

Acevedo also has cards in the following products:

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Between his velocity and his size — he’s 6-foot-7 and carries maybe 50 pounds more than his listed 190 — Acevedo presents an extremely intimidating figure on the mound. He’ll have frontline starter stuff if he can develop a good breaking ball, and he’s still a potential closer if he doesn’t. ETA 2018.

Here’s some video of this big man popping the catcher’s glove:

The Yankees are in a rebuilding mode. They have tried to re-stock the farm system and trade away players who are way past their prime. Acevedo can be a big piece in their future plans and so far they haven’t rushed him even though he’s very exciting to watch. The buzz around this player is building and will continue to do so until he toes the rubber at Yankee Stadium.
