Future Watch: Gleyber Torres Rookie Baseball Cards, Yankees –  A potential star in the making, Gleyber Torres, is currently playing for the Trenton Yankees. He signed with the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent in 2013. Torres became a Yankee when they traded closer Aroldis Chapman last season to the Cubs and they included him in the deal. As everyone knows, the Cubs went on to win the World Series so the deal was a win-win for both teams.

Torres is the Yankees top prospect and ranked second overall by Major League Baseball. There is no debating that. Torres has all the tools but the Yankees are teaching him how to be a professional early on. Just the other day he was pulled from the game when he didn’t run as fast as he could when a ball that could have been foul landed fair. That’s a good way to show the kid early that playing in New York means you must play the game the right way. Especially when you play the shortstop position.

At 6′-1″, 175lbs he has a pro body. In 29 games this season he has four home runs and has driven in 14. With nine doubles, 1 triple and hitting over .280 the early returns on him are as good as they expected.

Here’s the scouting report on him according to MLB Pipeline:

Torres has exceptionally quick hands that allow him to excel at the dish and in the field. He’s very advanced at the plate, recognizing pitches well, displaying patience and using the entire field. His power projections seem to increase each year as he adds strength and experience, and he now looks like he’ll deliver 20-plus homers on an annual basis in his prime. ETA 2018.

Gleyber Torres already has several autographed cards in the market. One of his hottest cards is the Chrome Prospects Autograph from 2017 Bowman Baseball. It’s a cornerstone card for anyone looking to collect the young Yankees prospect.

His first MLB licensed cards were released in 2015 Bowman Chrome Baseball. He has a Chrome Prospect Autograph in that release as well. He also has card in the following products (to name a few):

Here’s a look at him going deep:

Born in 1996, now 20, the Yankees won a Championship the year he was born. Is that a coincidence? Maybe, but let’s see what happens down the road.
