Jack Roslovic signing for a lucky young fan at the 2017 NHLPA Rookie Showcase

Future Watch: Jack Roslovic Rookie Hockey Cards, Jets – Jack Roslovic is an unassuming star in the making. Roslovic was born in Columbus, Ohio. He played for the U.S.A. National Team Development Program growing up. There was no doubt that he could be an elite player. But with so many big names and personalities playing on that team and on the 2017 World Junior Championship team that won gold this past winter, he’s a guy who may get overlooked just for being the strong, silent type.

The Winnipeg Jets drafted him 25th overall in 2015. Many were surprised that he was there for Winnipeg but that drafted was loaded. That was Connor McDavid’s draft. At 6′-1″, 192 pounds, he’s the kind of center who can be dangerous when he starts seeing regular time in the NHL. He can score or be a playmaker.

He played one terrific season for Miami University (formerly Miami of Ohio), and then he was off to the AHL to play for the Manitoba Moose. In his first pro season, he had 48 points in 65 games. He had 13 goals, three more than the previous season with Miami. He’s progressing nicely.

The Jets did give him a one-game call up last season. That was for a job well done. This season he will get a real chance to make the big club but most likely he’ll start the season in the AHL once again. He’s only 20 so there’s no point in rushing him as he continues to fill out.

He had fun at the recent 2017 NHLPA Rookie Showcase. So many of the players there were Americans he essentially grew up with. While many were shooing on the net, waiting for their group to be photographed, he was balancing a hockey puck on the shaft of his stick. He continued to throw it up in the air starting with having it land on the blade all the way to the other side. After three or four tries he had did it without any errors.

This player is a hard worker who has tremendous gifts. That’s a great combination and fans of the Jets should be excited to see him again.

Jack Roslovic’s first officially licensed NHL rookie card can be found in 2017-18 Upper Deck MVP Hockey. He is also on the checklist of this year’s O-Pee-Chee Hockey set, which releases next week. He was also featured in the 2016-17 Upper Deck AHL set.
