Future Watch: Jamal Adams Rookie Football Cards, Jets – Jamal Adams was selected 6th overall by the New York Jets in the 2017 NFL Draft. The safety was taken before some really talented quarterbacks and running backs. In today’s NFL, a star safety can save the game with a key tackle, a sack or an interception.

The Lewisville, TX native made his name at LSU. In his three seasons, there he had 209 tackles, five interceptions, two sacks and two forced fumbles. Another big and not so sexy statistic is the fact that he averaged more than five tackles a year for losses. As a sophomore, he was named to the second team All-Southeastern Conference. As a junior, he was named to the first team by the AP. At that point, he was ready to make the jump to the NFL.

At 6′-1″, 213 pounds, he can be a physical force on the field when combined with excellent speed. He’s a big reason the Jets, who were picked to go win-less by some pundits, started off the season 2-2. In his first four games he 12 tackles, one sack, and one partial deflection that led to an interception by a teammate.

Jamal Adams already has several autographed rookie cards in the market. As a defensive skill position player and top draft pick in a major market like New York, collectors can be assured to find NFL licensed rookie cards of Jamal Adams in the complete portfolio of 2017 Panini NFL football card products during the 2017-18 NFL season.

There’s no way of knowing if Adams is the next Ronnie Lott or Troy Polamalu. This type of player supersedes the position and this makes them collectible. Adams could be that guy, so collectors have been warned.

Here’s a look at him doing everything to make a play:

When the New York Jets become a contending team again, Adams will be a big reason why. The NFL may be a quarterback league but defense still matters. He will be the heart of the Jets defense for many years to come.
