Future Watch: Jose Pujols Rookie Baseball Cards, Phillies – Jose Pujols was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2012. He was a Dominican free agent and at the age of 16 he had a chance to live out his dream.

He was 6′-4″, 175lbs,  when he first started. He may fill out a bit more but for now he’s a player who generates a lot of bat speed through the zone and as a result he gets his fair share of home runs.

The outfielder is currently playing in the Florida State League in High A ball. In his first 310 at-bats he has seven homers and 26 RBI with 22 runs scored. He managed to hit nine doubles and one triple as well. It’s a far cry from the previous year in Lakewood. He had 24 homers with the Blue Claws. Sometimes that jump up takes time for a player to adjust.

Jose Pujols has a Chrome Prospects autographed card in 2017 Bowman Baseball. However, his first autographed card can be found in 2014 Panini Elite Extra Edition Baseball.

Some pundits are now wondering if Pujols can reach his potential. At 21, he still has plenty of time to do so. Sometimes a good winter leads to a hot summer and next year could be the year for him to break out once again.

When he extends his arms, you can see why he’s a player worth waiting for:

If he can make more contact, increase his power, and drop his strikeout rate he’ll be back on track. I’m sure that’s what his coaches are working on right now.

Collectors love players like this because he’ll seemingly come out of nowhere when and if he breaks through. His price on the secondary market won’t really be as high today as it could be in the future and that’s good for collectors.
