Future Watch: Michael Conforto Baseball Rookie Cards, New York Mets – Sometimes teams like to coddle young players. They are afraid to bring a player up before they reach a set amount of at-bats in the minors and that creates discussion. The New York Mets had those discussions about their 2014 first round pick, Michael Conforto.
After being called-up he went hitless in his first game but drove in his first major league RBI. He got the jitters out and in his second game he set a New York Mets record by going 4-4 (two doubles, two singles, a walk and four runs scored) in a 15-2 rout of the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers.
At 22, the former Oregon State University star has created a spark in the Mets batting order. He’s proven to be a real asset for one of the most anemic offenses in the league. You can’t substitute the kind of excitement a solid rookie prospect can create. He’s fast, he runs the bases well, he has a great throwing arm and so far, Conforto has shown there’s very little he can’t do in the early going.
Michael Conforto’s first baseball cards were released during his tenure with USA Baseball in 2012. He has multiple cards including autographs in Panini’s 2012 and 2013 USA Baseball sets.
His first MLB licensed cards were released in Bowman branded products in 2014 including 2014 Bowman Draft and 2014 Bowman Sterling as well as 2014 Panini Prizm.

Conforto will stay up with the big club for as long as he keeps hitting. If he hits a lull it’s possible the Mets will trade for an established outfielder for this year’s run at the playoffs. That doesn’t mean he won’t eventually be a star player. He has all the necessary tools and simply needs more major league experience.
