Future Watch: Michael Thomas Rookie Football Cards, Saints – Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, with the 47th overall pick, Michael Thomas was key part of Ohio State’s high powered offense. He’s the nephew of former NFL star, Keyshawn Johnson, so football is in his blood.

Michael Thomas’ NFL Draft Profile states: “His greatest strengths are that he has ball skill and he’s a competitive SOB. He’s a refuse-to-lose type player. I think that he will have a long career in the NFL.” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer

At 6′-3″ and 212 pounds, he’s a big target. However, its his nearly three foot vertical leap that puts pressure on the opponents defensive secondary. His 4.57 seconds speed in the 40-yard dash, while impressive, doesn’t compare to his shorter route times that include a 4.1 seconds time in the 20-yard dash.

He’s already ingratiated himself to Saints’ coaches and fans. Through NFL Week #7, he’s put up solid numbers, including: 36 receptions for 437 yards (12.1 yard average) with three touchdowns.

Reliable route runners like Thomas are a big asset in the NFL. Coming from a high-profile program like Ohio State, Thomas has several prospect themed football cards from draft pick related products. These include those produced by Panini, Leaf and Sage. At this point in the collecting season, Thomas is heavily featured in numerous NFL licensed football card products released by Panini America.

Prices for Thomas’ NFL licensed rookie football cards should continue to increase on the secondary market with the more reps he gets. Demand will only grow if he performs well and is given other opportunities throughout the 2016 NFL season.

The following Panini football card products all feature Thomas in his New Orleans uniform.
