Future Watch: Nicolas Kerdiles Rookie Hockey Cards, Ducks – Nic Kerdiles was selected with the 36th overall pick by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Before his draft year he played for the U.S.A. National Team Develoment Program with players like Seth Jones (Blue Jackets), Brady Skjei (Rangers), Jacob Trouba (Jets), Ryan Hartman (Blackhawks) and Will Butcher (Devils) to name a few.

After the draft, he attended the University of Wisconsin. He put up solid numbers there scoring 71 points in 60 games. Those are tremendous number for college hockey so he turned pro.

For the next four years, he would play for the Norfolk Admirals and San Diego Gulls, in the AHL. His 32 goals and 72 points in 129 games are solid numbers. Last season the talented winger did get a promotion playing one regular season game and four playoff games. He did get an assist in the playoffs and that may have sparked something in the 23-year-old that could carryover to this season.

The Ducks are a Stanley Cup contender. Unfortunately, Kerdiles suffered a groin injury in training camp. That was a small setback for the talented prospect. He’s now back in the AHL waiting to regain his health and hoping the Ducks will need his services again this season.

To date, Kerdiles only NHL licensed rookie cards can be found in 2017-18 Upper Deck MVP, as well  2017-18 O-Pee-Chee. However, he does have autographed cards in both 2014-15, 2015-16 Upper Deck AHL sets.

This goal shows off his skill level:

He’s fast, smart, has a solid shot and some toughness. At 6′-2″, 200 pounds he’ll get another chance this season. It’s almost a guarantee. He’s had a few injuries that have set him off his course but that hasn’t damaged his resolve. His dream to play in the NHL and one way or another he will achieve that. The Ducks have held on to him for a reason and that’s a good sign going forward.
