Future Watch: Pavel Zacha Hockey Rookie Cards, DevilsFuture Watch: Pavel Zacha Hockey Rookie Cards, Devils – Pavel Zacha has all the tools; size, speed, power and agility. Put all of these things together and you don’t have to wonder for very long why New Jersey Devils fans can’t wait for the 2016-17 season to start.

The 6′-3″, 210 pound center starred for the Sarnia Sting for the past two seasons. In his second season there he had 28 goals and 64 points in 51 games. In the playoffs he had 13 points in seven games.

He then joined Albany in the AHL and had 3 points in 3 games. After that he played in one NHL game, the last of the season, scoring two points. He then re-joined the AHL squad getting three points in five playoff games.

At just 19 years old, he’s played in the Czech Elite League and every other level of hockey after that. So now what happens to him?

He’s training in New Jersey waiting for Devils rookie camp to start. After that he’s expected to stay for the NHL camp and the preseason as well. Unless something unforeseen happens he’ll make the 2016-17 Devils roster.

His skills were on full display at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase. He dazzled the photographers while getting his pictures taken and then showed off his skills in a game of shinny with all 27 prospects.

Here is an on-ice interview with Zacha at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase last month:

Pavel Zacha has a NHL licensed rookie card in 2016-17 Upper Deck MVP Hockey because of his late season insertion. Now the question remains will he get a Young Guns rookie card in 2016-17 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey? He also has a redemption for an autographed rookie card in 2015-16 Upper Deck Portfolio Hockey as well.

He was drafted sixth overall in 2015. He hasn’t put too much pressure on himself to lead the Devils to the playoffs. That pressure will be on his new teammate, Taylor Hall.
