Future Watch: Riley Pint Rookie Baseball Cards, RockiesFuture Watch: Riley Pint Rookie Baseball Cards, Rockies – Riley Pint was picked 4th overall by the Colorado Rockies in the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. The 6′-4″ pitcher who hails from Lenexa, Kansas first starred at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas and soon hopes to one day be a big leaguer.

Pint is the highest drafted player from the Kansas City area. The previous record holder was Bubba Starling who was drafted 5th overall, by the Royals in 2011.

A two-way player, Pint can hit and he can throw 100 miles per hour. In his last season in high school he struck out 87 batters in just 49 innings of work.

This past June, he signed with the Rockies for a cool $4.8 million dollars. Not only will he get batters out but in the friendly confines of Coors Field I’d expect him to be a top-notch hitting pitcher as well.

Pint went from striking out 12 in his final high school game and winning the Kansas State Championship to rookie ball where he posted a 1-5 record in 11 starts. He did manage to get almost a strikeout per inning but the rest of his numbers weren’t pretty. That’s part of the process he’ll need to go through to climb the professional ladder.

As a top draft pick, Riley Pint already has several certified autographed cards in the market. You can find his cards in 2016 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball and 2016 Panini Elite Extra Edition.

His first MLB licensed prospect autographed cards appear in 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball and 2016 Bowman’s Best Baseball.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

After adding 15 pounds of muscle before his senior season, Pint consistently works at 93-97 mph and tops out at 102 with his fastball. His power curveball already is a plus pitch, and he can manipulate it into a harder slider when desired. Though he didn’t need a changeup against Kansas high school competition, his already grades as a plus pitch with good fade.

Here’s a look at him throwing some gas:

Give this prospect some time and he’ll make an impact in the hobby and on the pitcher’s mound.
