Future Watch: Tyler Bertuzzi Rookie Hockey Cards, Red WingsFuture Watch: Tyler Bertuzzi Rookie Hockey Cards, Red Wings – Tyler Bertuzzi is a hard-nosed talent who inked his entry level deal with the Detroit Red Wings in 2014. He was originally drafted 58th overall in 2013. His uncle, Todd, played a long NHL career with the Islanders, Canucks and Red Wings to name a few.

Now 22, he’s into his second full season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. He’s had more than a few fights but he also has had double-digit goal totals every season. He’s a bottom six player for sure but this 6′-1″ left winger has grit, and the gumption to be able to play at the next level.

So far he’s played seven games for the Red Wings. He hasn’t been able to stick just yet but at his age there’s still a lot of time. He has been able to harness his energy and cut down the penalty minutes and that bodes well for him moving forward.

Bertuzzi can be hard to play against. That’s what made him successful in the AHL and if he didn’t get an injury with the big club he may have stayed up there longer.

Tyler Bertuzzi has a Young Guns rookie card in 2016-17 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. He also has an officially licensed rookie card in 2016-17 Fleer Showcase Hockey, as well. He also has an autographed card in the 2016-17 Upper Deck AHL set.

In Red Wings development camp, he showed off his skills. Here’s a look at one crazy move:

The Red Wings can use a player like Bertuzzi in the lineup next season. The youngster will get a chance to have a nice playoff run with Grand Rapids. This summer he’ll be able to hone his skills, and them come into camp and attempt to steal a roster spot. Everybody in Detroit is hoping that this happens. These kinds of players are the glue to most teams and Detroit is no exception.
