At 6′-3″, 205lbs this pitcher has a lot of untapped potential and it’s fair to say that there have been a lot of expectations placed on his shoulders from the beginning.

2016 was a whirlwind for this phenom. He went from rookie ball, to A+, to AA and he finished out the season in AAA. His combined numbers were impressive to say the least. In 38 innings pitched he struck out 51 while walking only 20 and notching one save. His WHIP was a terrific 1.13 and his earned run average was 2.25. He got his first professional win with the Charlotte Knights.

Burdi previously starred at the University of Louisville. He was a star closer who had quite a reputation for being able to handle a heavy work load. It was there he worked with a fastball, slider and changeup. This past season the righty threw his heater anywhere from 97 to 102 MPH.

Zack Burdi alrady has several autographed trading cards in the market. One of his most popular is from 2016 Bowman Draft Baseball. He also has autographs in these products as well:

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

While he doesn’t throw as hard and consistently as his older brother (Nick, in the Twins organization), Burdi usually operates at 95-98 mph and has peaked at 101. His fastball has some late life but can straighten out at times. Nick also has a more devastating slider, though Zack improved his during his junior season at Louisville and it now qualifies as a plus pitch.

Here, Burdi throws triple digits:

The Downers Grove, Illinois native will soon be pitching for a local team he watched growing up. Every prospect says it’s a dream come true to be drafted by the team that does, but in this case it’s 100% authentic.
