There is no denying the fact that the partnership between GTS Distribution and Upper Deck to deliver value added incentive to retailers and collectors through the Overtime Hockey Promotion has been an unparalleled success. There are currently over 300 active listings on eBay and over 780 completed listings, with realized prices, showing, proof positive, the demand and value for these limited edition hockey cards.
The idea to partner with Upper Deck came as a result of having an intimate knowledge of the passion collectors have for limited edition cards. By providing retailers with the opportunity to deliver this value added offering to their customer base, we knew that we had created a win-win-win promotion. Coming off the completion of Wave 1 of the promotion, details and images have begun to surface regarding the upcoming Wave 2 edition. Each of the three planned waves of Overtime Hockey Packs has unique content, specific to that wave. In total, 180 cards, evenly distributed between the three waves account for the base set. The limited nature of the cards presents a true challenge to set builders and insures their value on the secondary market. Of course it helps that every card is autographed! In addition, a wide array of other autograph and serial numbered parallels and inserts are also included in each wave. Some of the realized prices for the cards from Wave 1 have been exceptional.
