Hobby Musings: Revisiting 2015 Signature Series Football – In need of a quick break for fun, I decided to give a box of 2015 Signature Series Football a go. With four autographs per box, collectors can expect to find a mix of rookies from the 2015 class, veteran players and retired legends.

Each box is advertised as containing three autographed cards and an autographed rookie jersey card or a multi-autograph booklet.

My own box contained a jersey/autograph combo card of former Buffalo Bills running back Karlos Williams. Like the other cards in the product, the autograph was on a sticker and the jersey piece was a blue mesh.

I did come away with a veteran autograph of quarterback Sam Bradford. Not the greatest name but one with some distinction and someone I needed for my personal collection to boot. My other two autographs were of Deone Buchanan and Hao’Oli Kikaha.

Unlike some other products that are hit-based, the autographs in your box are entirely what you will base your box break on as there no other cards in the box. I personally have no problem with this as I think a base, non-autographed set would be pointless in a product like this. I wouldn’t have minded seeing a non-autographed numbered rookie card added as an additional card though to add some extra value.

Overall, Signature Series is an intriguing break with boom or bust potential. This is the second box of the product I’ve busted and the Bradford is the best card of the eight autographs I’ve pulled. That being said, there are some pretty cool autographs to be had, especially if you pull one of the nice booklet autographs.

Boxes are being listed around the $50-$60 mark online. All in all, not a bad price for a four-signature product. Truth be told, I’d love Signature Series to be marketed as a one autograph per pack product like the release used to be in the late nineties.

I think it would help collectors take a sample of it without diving in at the full price while still being marketable for shops and other sellers.
