Hot in the Shop – Week of June 26th, 2017 – All Sports! – Both the NBA and NHL drafts for 2017 are in the books. This year’s NBA draft is considered to be one of the most talent-laden and NBA-ready classes in several years. An unprecedented number of one and done college freshman are prepared to take to the hardwood next fall. This bodes well for the upcoming season’s basketball card market.
Conversely, the 2017 NHL Draft Class will be a work in progress. Outside of the top two picks in Nico Hischier (New Jersey) and Nolan Patrick (Philadelphia) the rest of the class is a mix of talented prospects who will need some more seasoning before hitting the NHL ice. Both of this year’s top two draft picks have signed exclusive autograph deals with Leaf Trading Cards. This should bring strong demand for Leaf’s 2017-18 hockey products.
