The company obviously knew what it was doing as evidenced by recent sales on eBay of his first trading cards. The eclectic 2016 Goodwin Champions is currently the place to find Ben Simmons autographed trading cards.
An example of his Sports Royalty autographed card sold this weekend on eBay for $542. However, that appears far from the ceiling as evidenced by this example which is already at $610 with over 12 hours remaining.
Not to be outdone, this weekend, the autographed version of his base card had an example sell for $600!
Even his non-autographed base card, which is super short-printed at 1:2,800 packs are bringing BIG coin. One example sold yesterday for $140.50. Don’t you wish all of you base SP’s could be worth that much?!?
Collectors are clearly recognizing the inherent scarcity of Simmons’ cards within the product and are paying a premium. This is providing tremendous value at both the box and case purchase levels.
