presspass_logoIt was with deep sadness that we at GTS Distribution felt upon receiving the news that Press Pass Inc. was closing their doors and ceasing operations. The company that became synonymous with NASCAR trading cards was a valued partner and we wish their staff all the best in their new endeavors.

This is the official statement issued by the company.

Dear Friends,

We’re disappointed to announce that Press Pass, Inc. is closing the day to day operations, effective immediately. Accounting and legal resources are in place to conduct a reasonable closure of the business should that be the end result.

We are very thankful for the years of support from all of our customers and consumers. Over the past 22 years we’ve strived to produce compelling products that serve the interests of our end consumers. While it has not always been perfect, we have truly enjoyed our successes, and the relationships we’ve built with so many who share our passion for trading cards. Our hope now is that our paths will cross again soon.

Warmest Regards,

The Press Pass Staff

In addition to a quality lineup of NASCAR products, the company’s portfolio also consisted of music and entertainment properties as well as value driven collegiate athletic products. The company was always trying to find ways to create value for the collector in a highly competitive and often crowded marketplace. Some of the company’s popular offerings through the years included, but weren’t limited to the following products:

Parks and Recreation Season 1-4 Trading Cards – Capitalizing on the success of what in 2012, Time magazine called “the best series on TV”, Press Pass secured the rights to the hit NBC show. Keeping with the formula of other competing entertainment trading card products, every box delivered (2) autographs and (1) relic card. More importantly, rights to almost all of the key cast members were secured, including – Rob Lowe, Paul Rudd, Nick Offerman aand the show’s leading lady, Amy Poehler.

2010 Showcase Racing – One of the company’s first premium NASCR trading card products. With a pack-out configuration of 3 packs per box, each yielding an autograph or memorabilia card, the high-end chase pursued by other collectors was on for the racing fan.

2010 Five Star Racing – That same year the company upped the premium game even more with Five Star. The single pack per box product delivered

  • One Base Card Numbered to 35 or less
  • One Dual, Triple, Quad, or Oversized Memorabilia Card Numbered to 25 or less
  • One Autograph from an Elite Drive Numbered to 35 or less
  • One Autographed Memorabilia Numbered 50 or less
  • One Classic Compilations Book Card.

2006 Legends of Racing – This inaugural release and those that followed celebrated the sports rich heritage. Paying tribute to the circuits past drivers, collectors had the opportunity to find cut signatures of deceased drivers and autographs from some of the sport’s biggest names.

KISS IKONS – Through the years, Press Pass delivered a wide array of trading card products in tribute to the legendary rock band. IKONS took collectors behind the scenes with a 90-card base set that included rare and never-before-seen photos, along with quotes directly from current and former band members about everything KISS. Bonus content included stickers, tattoos, memorabilia and instant win 8×10 color photo autographs from Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
