Upper Deck CDDC - Store Improvement Initiatives Announced Upper Deck CDDC – Store Improvement Initiatives Announced – Over 150 retailers from around the country, recently gathered in Phoenix, Arizona. The occasion? The inaugural Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer Conference. Representatives from Upper Deck used the conference to outline a vision for the company’s 2017 plans. This event replaces their attendance at this year’s Industry Summit.

Attendees got a look at the planned product release calendar and insight into the company’s growing entertainment division. In addition, Upper Deck facilitated several panel discussions and presentations.

Mike Phillips, Upper Deck’s Vice-President of Sales explained the goals of the conference. “To help our industry grow and help shop owners find new ways to generate revenue. We brought in expert speakers on small business ownership. Including CIBC, Yelp, COMC, distributors and more to provide attendees with ideas and tools to become even more successful.”

Additionally, the company also hosted representatives from both the NHL and the NHLPA. Upper Deck is the exclusive licensee for trading card manufacturing for the NHLBrian Jennings, the NHL’s Chief Branding Officer gave a keynote speech on the direction of the league.

As would be expected, lots of prizes and promotional items were distributed throughout the conference. Upper Deck even surprised attendees with a meet and greet session with Mike Tyson and Mike Modano.

Of particular interest, that ALL hobby store owners should be aware of is the company’s store improvement initiative. Upper Deck continually talks about its commitment to  brick-and-mortar shops and their customers. They proved that by outlining a matching funds grant program. The goal of which is to help ensure that stores have a solid foundation for future growth.
