Urged by the vision of a deceased young President we reached for the stars and landed on the moon.
- In sports, some of the best underdog stories of the century transpired. The NY Jets and their brash, quarterback, Joe Namath, guaranteed a Super Bowl victory over the Baltimore Colts and veteran Johnny Unitas – and pulled off the upset. The Amazing Mets went from last-to-first in their division and pulled off the most improbable World Series victory in history.
