He has recorded double-digit points in all but two games, scoring 20+ points in 65% of those. Under the Radar 2021-22 Rookies

  • Ayo Dosunmu (Chicago Bulls) – the second year point guard for the Bulls has stepped up big for his team, solely taking over the starting role due to Lonzo Ball being out for the foreseeable future due to a lingering knee injury. He has continued to elevate his game by increasing his PPG and RPG. Even more impressively, doing so without his APG, steals per game, and blocks per game suffering. His ability to positively impact his team doesn’t stop with him at the point either, he has played 52% of his minutes at the SG spot. The ability to stay on the floor and impact his team from multiple positions has been, and will continue to be, a silver lining for a team without one of their star players.

Rising Stars

  • Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) [2020/21 Rookie Class] – entering his 3rd year in the NBA, the 76ers have finally let Maxey loose on their opponents. Securing himself a starting role, he leads his team in scoring by a margin of 62 and is second in assists, only to James Harden. He is quickly averaging just over 5 more PPG than last year and has shown increases in his RPG and steals per game for the 3rd year in a row. With Harden out for at least the next month, and Embiid continuing to be injury-prone, it seems as though the 76ers will rely upon him more than ever to lead the team. Being the 12th highest scorer in the league thus far, expect Maxey to take full advantage of this opportunity and show the league why he deserves to be in the talks for being an All-Star.

Under the Radar Players

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) [2018/19 Rookie Class] – the Oklahoma City star has started the 22-23 season with something to prove. In search of his 1st All-Star Game appearance, he has been leaving no doubt that he isn’t just a star for his team, but a star in the NBA. His elite scoring is being put on display, currently having scored the 9th most points in the league and tied with Kevin Durant for the most two-point shots made. Shai leads his team in points, assists, steals, and is second to Darius Bazley in blocks. With only 2 players on his team having been in the league for the same amount of years or more, he is proving to be an elite leader at an early age.
