Acetate Young Guns Driving Series 2 Hockey Repeat Sales – As if collectors really needed another reason to chase this year’s Young Guns rookies. The previously unannounced, surprise inclusion, of an all-acetate Young Guns set in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey has collectors circling back and purchasing more boxes!

Not only is the NHL’s second overall draft pick, Jack Eichel included as a base set Young Gun but first overall selection and budding superstar, Connor McDavid has TWO additional Young Guns cards in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. McDavid has a Canvas Young Guns card and an Acetate Young Guns card as well.

Prices for the only two documented sales on eBay of Connor McDavid’s Acetate version realized $2,550 and $3,050 respectively.

McDavid isn’t the only one with Acetate Young Guns cards in 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey. The entire Young Guns checklist from 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey has been created in Acetate and included in Series 2 boxes. This includes Rookie of the Year contenders, Artemi Panarin (Chicago Blackhawks) and Dylan Larkin (Detroit Redwings).

The Series 2 Acetate Young Guns cards feature entirely different images from those of their Series 1 counterparts. The cards are the thickness of regular cards but printed on clear plastic.

This surprise addition to the product and the realized secondary market prices, has many shops reporting the need to restock what has already been a very well received product. As a direct result, Acetate Young Guns are driving Series 2 Hockey repeat sales.
