Canvas Young Guns Creating Quite the Player Chase – Upper Deck knew what they were doing when they held back Connor McDavid’s Canvas Young Guns card from 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey. While the surprise inclusion of Acetate Young Guns and the planned debut of Jack Eichel’s Young Gun card have been the primary focus of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey, collectors shouldn’t overlook the plethora of Canvas Young Guns in the set.

Canvas Young Guns Creating Quite the Player ChaseThe Canvas Young Guns are creating quite the player chase. As a result, Connor McDavid’s Canvas Young Guns cards have been routinely selling in the $250-$300 range. This is truly remarkable in this day and age of the hobby. The card is not serial numbered, is not autographed and contains no memorabilia. Ahh the good old days!

The textured material of the card stock, limited print run and alternate photographs create a compelling chase for team and player collectors. The unique cards simply add an additional level of value to an already bonafide best-selling product.

Most of the realized prices for the top selling cards have been in raw condition. One can only imagine where prices might top out at as more samples make their way to grading companies.

In addition to the Base, Acetate and Canvas versions of the Young Guns set, an even more limited parallel of the cards called, Exclusives is sure to create strong demand among player collectors. These cards are serial numbered to just 100 copies. However, as if that wasn’t enough of a chase, another version of the Young Guns cards exist.

Titled High Gloss, these cards are serial numbered to 10! In Series 1, these cards were designated not only by their serial numbering but labeling as being High Gloss on the card front, as well. It should be noted that these cards in Series 2 are not labeled as such due to a printing error. They are however, still serial numbered to 10.
