Future Watch: Adam Engle Baseball Rookie Cards, White SoxFuture Watch: Adam Engle Baseball Rookie Cards, White Sox – Adam Engel was selected in the 19th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox. He hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and played for the Louisville Cardinals before turning pro. In 2013, he was the team captain, and named to the third team All-Big East after being named second All-Big East in 2012. As a centerfielder he impressed many with his speed swiping 41 bases and scoring 51 runs in 65 games.

His first stint in the minors saw him hit .301 with 31 steals in 56 games. He had three homers and 30 RBI to add to a really great first season in the minors. In total, he’s amassed 180 steals, 24 homers, 157 RBI, 177 walks and 295 runs scored in 424 games. Now 24 years old he is coming close to sniffing the majors.

The former Arizona Fall League MVP made it as high as Triple-A Charlotte this year. He had 12 triples and 45 steals. Next year, he will be given every opportunity to make the big club.

Adam Engle is featured in this year’s 2016 Bowman Chrome Baseball. He has multiple cards including a very cool Arizona Fall League Relic Card. Those cards include a MLB hologram, officially authenticating the jersey material as having been worn in an Arizona Fall league Game. Pretty cool given the fact that he was the league MVP. He has a Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph card, #CPA-AEN.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

When Engel does reach base, he’s a threat to steal with his plus-plus speed. He’s a quality center fielder who throws well enough, but his baserunning and defensive ability won’t matter much if he can’t produce at the plate. ETA 2017.

Coming into this season www.milb.com ranked him the Chicago White Sox fourth best prospect in the organization. As he’s gotten more experience he’s become a better hitter and a more prolific base stealer. Next year could be his year. Now collectors will have to take a wait and see approach.
