Future Watch: Andrew Bechtold Rookie Baseball Cards, TwinsFuture Watch: Andrew Bechtold Rookie Baseball Cards, TwinsAndrew Bechtold was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft.

In 2017, while playing for the Elizabethton Twins, he hit 10 doubles, one triple, two homers, and 19 RBI while batting .299.

In 2018, he was with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. He only hit .216 but he was productive hitting 17 doubles, two homers, and 34 RBI.

The next season he started in Cedar Rapids and will end with the Fort Myers Miracle unless he gets a late-season promotion. The third baseman hit five homers, knocked in 29 and he hit .246. He had 15 doubles, one triple and four steals, and the season wasn’t over yet.

Collectors can find his rookie card in 2019 Bowman Priority Baseball.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Bechtold began his collegiate career at Maryland but transferred to Chipola after redshirting his sophomore year and being told he would be a part-time player. He put up huge numbers with Chipola but might have been dinged by some team’s models that discount production at the junior college ranks. At least in his debut, Bechtold’s approach translated quite nicely to the pro game, making consistent contact and drawing walks in an approach that’s still hit over power. A solid athlete with very good range defensively, Bechtold has average speed and likes to run. His plus arm will work very well from the hot corner. ETA 2020.

Here’s a look at him in action:

The third baseman is from the greater Philadelphia area and he was drafted by a team in Minnesota. He’s honing his hitting skills. The power and speed are already there. When he’s ready the Twins will be calling him up. Right now, they’re letting him marinate and get the right number of at-bats.
