Before he was drafted, he starred at Louisiana University. As an outfielder, he made his mark at the plate and in the field. In 2015 he was All-SEC, was selected to the Gold Glove Award team, and was on the Academic Honor Roll. That was just part of his eight award nominations that season with three the year before. In 2015, he hit .348 with 13 doubles, five triples, one home run and 24 RBI, 53 runs scored and 26 steals.

This kinesiology student clearly has learned about human movements on and off the field. To date he’s played for six teams in his pro career. Right now, in AA playing for the Harrisburg Senators he’s hitting a cool .350. Again, he’s filling all the stats columns with 10 steals, 10 doubles, five triples, 31 RBI and 45 runs scored in his first 80 games. If he keeps that up he’ll get another promotion this season.

Here’s the scouting report on him according to MLB Prospects Pipeline:

Considered to be the best defensive center fielder in college baseball leading up to the 2015 Draft, Stevenson has carried that reputation with him to the professional ranks. His reads and jumps are outstanding and few players show more range, with some scouts grading his defensive ability as a 70 on the 20-80 scale. Stevenson’s below-average arm strength is his weakest tool, although it doesn’t detract from his overall brilliance in center. At the plate, Stevenson shows top-of-the-order potential from the left side with his knack for quality contact, strong on-base skills and speed that produces plus run times to first base and makes him a threat on the basepaths. ETA 2018.
