Future Watch: Anthony Cirelli Rookie Hockey Cards, Lightning – Anthony Cirelli was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning with the 72nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
He first starred with the Oshawa Generals in the OHL. He had 36 points in 68 games in the regular season and 10 in 21 playoff games. The next season, he had 21 goals and 59 points in 62 games. He was a captain that season and he had five points in five playoff games.
In 2017, he split time with Oshawa and later the Erie Otters. That season he made it to the Memorial Cup and lost. He was voted most Sportsmanlike Player in the tournament.
That season he also had a chance to play for team Canada in the 2017 World Junior Championship. He had seven points in seven games and took home a Silver Medal.
He ended that season with six playoff games with the AHL Syracuse Crunch, that was his second cup of coffee with the team.
In 2017-18, he started the year with Syracuse scoring 37 points in 51 games. He then caught on with the Tampa Bay Lightning late in the season. In 18 games the talented center scored five goals and added five helpers. He then went on a long playoff run with Tampa getting three points in 17 games and gaining a lot of experience.
