Future Watch: Anthony Edwards Basketball Cards, Minnesota Timberwolves – When you’re nabbed first overall in an Entry Draft, regardless of the sport or level, you’re entering directly into a world of high expectation. The pressure is enormous to say the least, but the 2020 NBA Draft first selection, Anthony Edwards, is ready and primed to shoulder this immense intensity.
The 6’5″ shooting guard comes to Minnesota with an immense reputation behind him. In 32 college games played with Georgia, Edwards had a sparkling PPG average of 19.1, a .772 free throw rate and a rebound average of 5.2.
If there was any weak point in Edwards’ game, it was his shooting from the arc. His .294 average on threes certainly wasn’t of caliber that would get him opportunities – and more importantly minutes – on most NBA floors, but Edwards has openly stated that he’s putting in the extra time to improve this facet of his game.
“I feel like the main thing I’ve been working on is my catch-and-shoot 3-point shots,” he told The Undefeated. “I feel like my catch-and-shoot has improved tremendously. So, that’s what I’m going to be showing a lot next season when I get into the league. I haven’t really changed anything [in shooting form]. It’s just repetition.”
