Future Watch: Aristides Aquino Baseball Cards, Cincinnati Reds – Aristides Aquino signed with the Cincinnati Reds as an international free agent in 2011. He’s a 6’4″, 220-pound player and his path to the major leagues hasn’t been smooth.

In 2013, he played for two teams after playing in the Dominican Summer League multiple times. His combined numbers were seven homers, 42 RBI with a .262 batting average with 16 doubles and seven triples.

In 2014, he spent a full season in rookie ball and in 2015, he played for two more teams, ending the season in A-ball. His 2015 numbers were seven homers, 40 RBI, 10 doubles, six triples and six steals.

In 2016, Aquino was in High-A. He slugged 23 homers and 79 RBI with 26 doubles and 12 triples. One year later, he transitioned to AA, hitting 17 home runs, 56 RBI and struck with 20 doubles and six triples.

In 2018, Aquino was in AA again and got a one-day call-up to fill in for an injured Joey Votto. His debut was as a pinch-runner, but he got in an at-bat (albeit striking out). The Reds, however, showed confidence in this talented prospect.

In 2019, Aquino played in AAA and the big leagues. In AAA, he hit 28 home runs with 53 RBI in 78 games. With the Reds, meanwhile, he hit 19 home runs, had 47 RBI and a .259 batting average with seven steals.

Already, Aquino has set an MLB record. Take a look:

The long road to MLB has meant a lot of time for burgeoning collector interest, which has helped in the production of multiple cards. Among these are Rookie Cards this year, such as in 2020 Topps Chrome and 2020 Panini Absolute Baseball among others. His first cards, however, can be found in 2014 Bowman!

In 2020, he made the 40-man roster, and when baseball resumed, he was a lock to make the big club. In his first eight at-bats, this outfielder hit one double, had two RBI and stole one base. Collect this player because he has a power stroke that has already come alive.
