Future Watch: Baltimore Ravens Football Cards, Top Five Prospects

Future Watch: Baltimore Ravens Football Cards, Top Five Prospects – I hope folks listened to me when I wrote about Lamar Jackson and how good I felt he would be. He’s gone way beyond that, and hopefully, these Ravens will fly high with solid careers as well.

J.K. Dobbins is a fast rookie running back who hits the hole hard. He had nine touchdowns in a fine first season that saw him gain 805 yards on the ground. His 6.0 yards per carry average has mostly carried into the playoffs where he was good for 4.8 in the wildcard round. Dobbins found the endzone, and the Ravens beat the Tennessee Titans to move on to the Divisional Playoffs.

Miles Boykin is a 6-4, 220-pound sophomore wide receiver who is a great target for his quarterback. He caught four touchdowns in the regular season. Boykin is a red-zone receiver who can go high up for 50-50 balls or can make that diving catch because he has the kind of hands that all good players need to be able to play in the NFL.

Marquise Brown is a special sophomore receiver. He’s a 5-9 burner who gets a lot of yards after the catch. Brown averaged 13.3 yards per reception during the regular season with eight touchdowns and in the Ravens big win on Sunday, he caught 109 yards to lead the team, while rushing for another 19 and showing off his star power in the wildcard game. Next week could be bigger.

Devin Duvernay is a talented rookie wide receiver, and all this player is looking for is some touches. This prospect only caught 20 this season but next year could be his time. For his first NFL playoff game, two targets are better than none, and getting a catch helps build confidence. Duvernay’s first playoff touchdown may be off a punt or kick return.

Patrick Queen is 21, and this guy has burst on the scene to keep the Ravens defense balanced. Going over 100 tackles as a rookie is nice, and it will keep him in the Defensive Rookie of the Year conversation, but did that transfer to the postseason? Three solo tackles and six assisted with a quarterback hit was a productive game. Queen also took the fifth highest snaps on the Ravens defense.

As the playoffs roll on, you can expect contributions from these young players.
