Future Watch: Bo Bichette Baseball Cards, Toronto Blue Jays – Bo Bichette was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round of the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. A second-generation player, his dad, Dante, was a heck of a player in his own right with good power and speed. Bo takes after him in some respects, and in others, he has the potential to be better. Dante had the good fortune to play at Coors Field, and he had some big years there. Bo has played in a ballpark that is less home run friendly, but he has a way of producing runs.
Bichette showed early signs of his prowess when he counted 74 RBI in back-to-back seasons. First, in 2017, he pulled in those numbers in Class-A action with Lansing and Dunedin, and then in 2018 with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in AA ball. He had double-digit home run power and he scored 88 and 95 runs respectively. He runs the bases extremely well as evidenced by his OBP of .423 in 2017.
In 2019, Bichette started in Buffalo with the Bisons. He had 61 hits in 56 games and got called up to the show with Toronto. On August 6th, he made history by completing a run of 10 extra-base hits in his first nine major league games. The next day, when he smacked a double, he joined Yadier Molina and Derrek Lee as the only major league players, in the live ball era, to record a double in eight straight games. He was setting records and turning heads, and the Jays knew he was now a regular.

Named after Bo Jackson, Bichette played for the Blue Jays in 2020. He was solid at shortstop and the plate again. So far, his batting average is over .300 for his brief career, and he’s a threat to get extra-base hits to all parts of the field. Collect him at all costs.
