Future Watch: Bobby Portis Rookie Basketball Cards, Bulls – With the smallest roster of any of the four major sports, it can often take awhile for NBA rookies to earn playing time. Such has been the case for Bobby Portis. The Chicago Bulls selected Portis with the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. With a recent injury to Bulls’ forward Joakim Noah, Portis is finally getting some time in the line-up.

Standing at 6′-11″ and 230lbs, Portis had been on the radar of NBA scouts since being names a Parade and McDonald’s All-American in 2013. He really shined at Arkansas being named SEC Player of the Year in 2015 and was also a John R. Wooden Award finalist for National College Player of the Year.

To date, Portis has appeared in just eight NBA games, averaging 11.7 minutes per game. During that time he is averaging seven points and just over three rebounds.

Time will tell is Portis is a legitimate piece of the Bulls’ future. However, with a couple of aging and injury prone players on the roster, chances are pretty good that Portis could be a Bull for the foreseeable future.

Here is a look at highlights from his recent game against the New York Knicks where he put up a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Panini America, the licensed trading card manufacturer of the NBA has already released product details for several upcoming basketball card sets. Collectors can be assured that Bobby Portis will be a featured rookie throughout the NBA trading card season.

Bobby Portis already has several autographed rookie cards available on the secondary market. Current prices seem to indicate that collector’s are confident in his abilities to perform at the NBA despite a lack of playing time. Fans of Portis’ alma mater can find autographed cards of Portis in his Razorbacks uniform in 2015-16 Panini Prizm Basketball and 2015-16 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Basketball.
