Future Watch: Bogdan Bogdanovic Rookie Basketball Cards, KingsFuture Watch: Bogdan Bogdanovic Rookie Basketball Cards, Kings – For international players making the jump to the NBA, it can be a journey. Sometimes a team will draft a player and bring him over right away. The Knicks did this with Frank Ntilikina this year. Sometimes, a player will be left overseas to develop a bit more before jumping to the NBA. This happened with shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Kings. He was initially drafted by Phoenix with the 27th pick in 2014. After three seasons in Europe and having his draft rights traded to the Kings, he’s finally playing his rookie season in the NBA.

The 25-year-old Serbian has been playing organized basketball for a long time. He competed in the 2010 & 2011 FIBA U-18 Championships. He was also a part of the Serbian National Team at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Bogdanovic also represented his country in the 2016 Summer Olympics, helping his team secure a silver medal. His most impressive international performance came at EuroBasket 2017. In that tournament, Bogdanovic averaged 20.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5 assists over nine games.

The Kings couldn’t pass up bringing the 6’6” Bogdanovic over to the states after his impressive summer. This season, he has played in 44 games, averaging 26.8 minutes. His 11.4 points per game has him seventh among rookies this season. Scouts have raved about the incredible length he has for his position, and his athletic ability. Bogdanovic’s strong feel for the game has earned him consistent minutes which are trending upward. Over his last five games, he’s averaged 32.0 minutes. Over that span, he’s putting up 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steals.

Kings coach Dave Joerger stated he wants to play his younger core of players more down the stretch. This is a great opportunity for Bogdanovic to get more minutes and develop his game further. Fans in Sacramento have taken note, now it’s time for the rest of the NBA collectors to get on board!

As a “draft-and-stashrookie, Bogdan Bogdanovic does not have a ton of cards in the market. HOWEVER, Panini has taken note of Bogdanovic and included him in 2017-18 Totally Certified and 2017-18 Revolution. As the season goes on, expect to find more Bogdanovic cards in future releases from Panini.
