Future Watch: Brandon Servania Soccer Cards, FC Dallas / SKN St. Pölten – Earlier this week, Major League Soccer updated its fans and media with the latest transfer news, and among those names moving elsewhere in the soccer sphere was Brandon Servania.

The news of the transfer broke on February 15, when SKN St. Polten of Austria’s Bundesliga picked up the midfielder. This is the second young American pickup by SKN in recent times, who picked up the temporary contract of Bayern Munich’s Taylor Booth earlier.

The transfer brings another unique chapter for Servania’s year, which has already seen the Birmingham, AL native train with Bayern Munich in January, one of six invitees from his FC Dallas squad to do so.

The incredible progress Servania has made this year comes on the heels of a 2020 the youngster would rather forget, as an MCL tear led to the 21 year-old making only 12 appearances. Prior to this, Servania was on a very strong clip, tallying twice in 2019 for Dallas amid 19 appearances. One of those goals can be seen below:

appearing in the U-20 World Cup and getting a big time call to the U.S. Olympic Qualifying prep camp. The only “downside” to the year was being sent down to the USL’s North Texas SC, but Servania showed a lot of maturity in discussing this.

Tab (Ramos) had told us that it was better for guys to be getting minutes wherever we could, and playing with North Texas definitely helped me,” he told USSoccer.com, the official website of the national program. “Even though it wasn’t the first team, it was still good pro minutes and having game-fitness and rhythm definitely prepared me for playing in the World Cup.”

To give you an idea of Servania’s potential, witness what Buzz Carrick of The Dallas Morning News had to say about the prospect after naming him “Man of the Match” amid US Open Cup play on June 14, 2019:

Terrific positioning, good game control, solid defense, quality distribution both wide and forward, great possession, and even drew a couple of fouls at the right time. His quality U20 play has obviously given him confidence and I was glad to see him carry that forward.

That confidence is definitely growing and there’s a good chance that we’ll see great things from Servania ahead, particularly once he gets his footing in his new surroundings. Collectors would be well advised to nab his 2020 Topps MLS Soccer cards.
