In 2013, he started his first season as a true freshman as a designated hitter. He had six doubles, two triples, 11 home runs. He hit .336 at home and was a .326 hitter in the leadoff spot. After that season he had Tommy John surgery on his elbow and he didn’t play summer baseball.

In 2015, he played pro ball for the Boise Hawks. He played in 69 games in Short-A. His 19 doubles, four homers, 36 RBI and .275 was a nice start to his career.

In 2016, he played for the Asheville Tourists in Class-A. In 537 at-bats he had 14 homers and 83 RBI while hitting .313. He was back to being a player to watch.

In 2017, he started out the year in advanced-A with the Lancaster JetHawks and after slugging 12 homers and driving in 59 in just 67 games he was promoted. He finished the year out in Double-A with the Hartford Yard Goats. There he drove in 19 runs in 52 games to close out his season. He did hit .302.

In 2018, now 24, he was back with the Yard Goats after being invited to the Rockies Spring Training as a non-roster player. He did have a slight injury, in his first 106 games he had six homers and 34 RBI with 22 doubles and a .259 batting average.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Mundell focuses on managing the strike zone and making consistent contact. A right-handed hitter, he excels at driving balls to the opposite field and hit 13 of his 15 homers last year to the left side. He has the bat speed, strength, and discipline to provide more power if he began turning on more pitches. ETA 2019.

He has a 2017 Bowman Baseball Chrome Prospects Autographs card and that’s a good way to get him into your collection.

He has a great shot at making the team next season so keep an eye out for him.
