Future Watch: C.J. Prosise Rookie Football Cards, Seahawks – A native of Woodberry Forest, Viginia, C.J. Prosise was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 90th overall pick, by the Seattle Seahawks. At 6’1″, 220 pounds, he is a versatile athlete that presents a dual threat out of the backfield.

Playing for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Prosise was initially used as a wide receiver and special teams player. As a junior, he was switched to running back for the 2015 season. He finished the season rushing for 1,032 yards on 156 carries (6.6 avg) and scoring 11 touchdowns. He also had 28 receptions for 308 yards and one touchdown.

C.J. Prosise’s Draft Profile states: “Prosise is a former wide receiver, and Pete Carroll likes players with unique skill sets. He could be a special back in this league.” – NFL Media Analyst, Michael Robinson

His profile continues, “Has every­-down size for the position. Patient, gliding runner with a sense for when it’s time to hit the gas and go. Has late cut ability to create new yards for himself. Has effective open-field spin move to elude and the play strength to power through lesser tackle attempts. Efficient runner between the tackles. Runs with desired pad level maintains balance through contact. Falls forward in his finishing. Has enough play speed to turn the corner as outside runner. Experience as receiver gives him upgraded route ability as running back. Has opportunity to be effective on all three levels as receiver if match-up avails itself.”

Is C.J. Prosise the heir apparent to Marshawn Lynch? Time will tell but it appears he will be given every opportunity to make that a reality.

If Prosise can prove that he is the replacement for Marshawn Lynch the value of his NFL licensed rookie football cards will increase on the secondry market. Demand will only grow if he performs well and is given other opportunities throughout the 2016 NFL season.
