Future Watch: Chance Adams Rookie Baseball Cards, New York YankeesFuture Watch: Chance Adams Rookie Baseball Cards, New York YankeesChance Adams was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 5th round of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft. The Scottsdale, AZ native gained quite a bit of attention leading up to the draft.

Scouts found Adams pitching for a lesser known Community College; Yavapai, which is located in Arizona. In 11 appearances where he was 2-0 and had 18 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings in 2013 all in relief. In 2014, he was 4-4 with a 2.88 ERA there as a starter.

In 2015, he was attending Dallas Baptist University. He was 7-1, with two saves. He struck out 83 in 59 innings! He was on the Yankees radar and after that, he got his pro career underway.

In 2015, he pitched for three different teams going 3-1 with a 1.78 ERA.

When he started out the 2016 season with a 5-0 record and a 2.65 ERA for the Tampa Yankees in Advanced A-Ball he was promoted to Double-A.

In Double-A he was 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA with 71 strikeouts in 69 2/3 innings.

He started out 2017 with a 4-0 record and a 1.03 ERA, he was then promoted to Triple-A Scranton.

He was 4-5 with a 4.78 ERA in Scranton but also got a taste of the Yankees appearing in three games.

According to his MLB.com draft profile:

Adams operated with a 93-95 mph fastball during his first two pro seasons as a starter before dipping to 91-93 mph, and he was much more hittable with less velocity. His slider also wasn’t as hard or sharp as it had been the past two years. He’ll mix in some curveballs and fading changeups but works primarily off his two solid offerings. Adams’ control and command also regressed a bit, contributing to his struggles. After previously projecting as a possible No. 3 starter, he’s now more likely to contribute as a multi-inning reliever unless he can reclaim his mid-90s fastball and mid-80s slider. ETA 2019

Here’s a look at his stuff:

Collectors can find his rookie card in 2019 Bowman Baseball.

In 2019, in his first four starts, he was 0-1. He was then sent to Scranton and in four starts he was 1-1 while striking out 24 in 17 innings. He’s 24, and he’s already played in the show. He has a solid arm. Fans and collectors can expect to see him there again very soon.
