Future Watch: Christian Kirk Rookie Football Cards, Cardinals
Christian Kirk was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the 47th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. This 5-11 wide receiver could be poised to surprise more than a few people this season.
He played his high school ball in Scottsdale, Arizona and then attended Texas A&M to play college ball.
In 2015, he started as a true freshman. In his first game, he gained 106 yards in six receptions! He had one receiving touchdown that game and a 79-yard punt return for another. His career was off and running. In 13 games he had 1,009 yards in total receiving yards with seven touchdowns. Along with the receptions, he had two return touchdowns as well.
In 2016, he played in all 13 games. Kirk had 928 receiving yards with nine touchdowns. Again, he proved to be prolific return man with three return touchdowns. Again, he was returning punts and kickoffs. He was an impact player.
In 2017, he caught 91 passes for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns. Kirk had one touchdown as a punt returner and one as a kickoff returner. He was an all-purpose yardage threat.
Christian Kirk was ready for the draft. He ran a 4.47, 40-yard dash at the combine but he wasn’t a first-rounder because he had a scrape with the law a few months before the draft. That dropped him right into Arizona’s hands in the second round.
Week one, he had one reception for four yards. In week two he had four receptions for 27 yards. Then, in week three he had seven receptions for 90 yards with a long of 32.
Here’s a look at his week three targets against the Chicago Bears:
The Cardinals have now acknowledged that Kirk has become a part of their offense. Collectors should make him a part of their collection.
