Future Watch: Collin Johnson Football Cards, Jacksonville Jaguars – Collin Johnson was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. A quarterback’s best friend is a sure-handed receiver, and when that guy is 6’6″ and has a large wingspan, that’s a match made in heaven.

Johnson had some injuries that held him back in high school until his senior season at Valley Christian. He went over 1,100 yards that year, and following enrolled at the University of Texas.

His start with the Longhorns was good. Johnson played in all 12 games but only made one start. He started to make more of an impact in his sophomore season. He played in 13 games and had nine starts. His 54 catches ranked him 19th all-time for a single season in Texas’ record book. He had 765 yards and two touchdowns as well.

In 2018, his junior season, Johnson had 68 catches for 985 yards and seven touchdowns. He set a Big-12 Championship single game record with 177 yards in the title game against Oklahoma.

In 2019, as a senior, Johnson missed six games with a hamstring injury. He still caught 38 passes for 559 yards and three touchdowns, but his stock dropped heading into the NFL Draft.

Johnson had a limited Combine but did 17 reps on the weight bench.

Collectors can find his rookie cards in 2020 Panini Contenders Draft Picks, Score and others.

Here’s a look at Johnson making some fantastic catches:

If you need a third-down conversion or a 50-50 ball in the endzone, Johnson is your man. He’s very hard to cover and could have an immediate impact in his first NFL season. Prospectors should love this guy who is under the radar but may not be in a few seasons. He’s worth the risk.
