Future Watch: Conner Greene, Baseball Rookie Cards, Blue JaysFuture Watch: Conner Greene, Baseball Rookie Cards, Blue Jays – Conner Greene is a right-handed pitcher who was selected in the 7th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. So far he’s thrown 368 2/3 innings of minor league baseball yielding a 26-21 record.

In 2016 he finished out the year with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the Eastern League. That’s the Jays AA affiliate. During that season he managed a respectable 6-5 record. He had one complete-game shutout.

Greene has good control. Toronto has done a nice job of not rushing him and now he’s got a great foundation under him throwing all those innings by the time he was 21. That’s how you do it in today’s game.

The California native has a solid mid 90’s fastball that can be dialed up to 98 MPH. He has a celebrity friend in Charlie Sheen and he has done some modeling and acting so far. He won’t be sneaking up on anybody next season.

A model and actor since he was a youngster, Greene is on the verge of becoming more famous on the diamond. The seventh-round pick out of Santa Monica (Calif.) High two years ago has taken a significant step forward with his velocity and control while making his full-season debut in 2015. ETA 2017

Even if next season is not the year; the Blue Jays should be giving him a decent look in Spring Training. Blue Jays manager, John Gibbons is high on this youngster. At 6′-3″, his frame is filling out and his fastball is busting across the plate. He’ll certainly get a lot of coverage on and off the diamond when he does finally suit up North of the border in the Rogers Centre.
