Future Watch: Daniel Jones Rookie Football Cards, Giants – Daniel Jones was drafted sixth overall by the New York Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft. To say this pick created excitement, anxiety, and discussion would be an understatement. When the biggest name in New York football picks you earlier than the experts expected, sparks were bound to fly.
After having a successful high school career where he threw for almost 7,000 yards and 98 touchdowns for Charlotte Latin School, the North Carolina native decided to attend Duke University.
Not known for their football. The 6-5, 220-pound gunslinger was redshirted in 2015 but in 2016, he threw 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions with 2,836 yards and a 62.8 pass completion percentage. He rushed for seven touchdowns as well.
In 2017, his pass completion percentage dropped to 56.7% and he threw 14 touchdowns against 11 picks. He ran for a career-high 518 yards and seven touchdowns. His yards per run were a respectable 3.2 per carry average.
In 2018, he threw for 2,674 yards and a career-high 22 touchdowns and a career-low nine interceptions. His quarterback rating was a stellar 131.7 and he ran for three touchdowns with a 3.1 yards per carry average.
At best he was the third best quarterback in the draft class according to the experts.

Jones is the heir apparent to Eli Manning, whenever his career is done, or Jones just wins the job. Manning has won championships, so some fans are going to be skeptical about moving on from him in favor of a possible reach in the draft. As a collector, you have to collect him in case the Giants are right. Stay tuned to see this one unfold.
