Future Watch: Darius Leonard Rookie Football Cards, Colts – Darius Leonard was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the 36th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was a star at South Carolina State and that’s trickling down to the NFL as well.
In his rookie season at South Carolina, he had 86 tackles, 14 for a loss with five sacks and two forced fumbles. The next season he had 70 stops. He was starting to make a name for himself. After the 2016 season, he was voted MEAC defensive player of the year. That season he had 124 tackles, 14 ½ of them for a loss, 3 ½ sacks and two interceptions and four forced fumbles. He was a force that season.
As a senior, he had 113 total tackles, 8 ½ sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. After that 2017 season, he racked up his second MEAC defensive player of the year award.
In the senior bowl, he had five solo tackles and 14 in total. That drove up his draft stock. Then he impressed scouts at the combine, even with a quad pull.

When the Pro Bowl teams were announced Leonard was snubbed but he was named as an alternate. He went public with his displeasure showing how much pride he takes in his game. Now he has to wait for an injury to get in the big game. He might and now collectors know they should collect this future Pro Bowler.
