Future Watch: David Pastrnak Hockey Rookie Cards, Boston Bruins – David Pastrnak was the 25th overall pick of the 2014 NHL Draft. The Boston Bruins felt they found gold late in the first round and I was right there with them. After a nice start in his first AHL season he got thrust into the NHL in late November. By early December he was back in Providence and that’s the life of an NHL prospect.

Then he was recalled in early January and didn’t get thrown in right away. Then he slowly got his feet wet and then he got a chance in Philadelphia, against the Flyers and he got his first two NHL goals in his 7th NHL game.

Sometimes players with a high skill level, like this Czech forward possesses, need to play with better players. Well when he was playing with Brad Marchand and David Krejci he managed to thrive and put some life back in a struggling team.

This 6′, left winger has a knack for scoring even strength goals. Of his 10 goals, 8 came in that fashion and 27 points in 46 games was a nice first half season. So what will he do in 2015-16?

He’s expected to take on a top-nine role and become one of the teams reliable scorers. Is that too much to expect out of a 19-year-old? Not really. He’d been playing in Sweden for two seasons, against men, and then in the AHL he put up 28 points in 25 games. At every level he’s been up to the challenge so this should be no different.

David Pastrnak’s official NHL rookie cards can be found in trading card sets released in the second half of the 2014-15 season, including:

One of his most popular rookies cards is his 2014-15 Young Guns Canvas from 2014-15 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey.

Here’s a best of reel on Pastrnak:

If the Bruins are going to have a good year, this prospect has to be a big part of it.
