Future Watch: Devin Mann Rookie Baseball Cards, Dodgers

Future Watch: Devin Mann Rookie Baseball Cards, DodgersFuture Watch: Devin Mann Rookie Baseball Cards, DodgersDevin Mann was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Amateur Draft. He was the first position player the Dodgers selected in that draft. The Indiana native really got his name out there when he attended Louisville University.

After four seasons of pre-baseball at Columbus North High School he was ranked 348th in the nation. He was then ready to start his college career. In 2016, he made 19 starts hitting .303, in all 39 games in total, with nine doubles and 17 RBI, that was a good start for the infielder.

As a sophomore, he started in 64 games. He drove in 44 runs and hit eight home runs. He scored twice and drove in two in the Super Regional win over Kentucky.

In his junior season, he hit .303 with 17 doubles, 52 RBI and 65 runs scored. He also added 15 steals in 64 starts. He was 7th in the nation in walks and 24th in runs scored. He went 3-3 with a homer and two RBI in an elimination game win over Kent State. When the pressure is on, Mann seems to elevate his game.

After a five-game stint with the Arizona Dodgers in 2018, he moved on to play with the Great Lakes Loons in A-ball. That season he hit 13 doubles, one triple, two homers and 30 RBI with 34 walks and seven steals. He’s an extremely productive player.

Collectors can get his 2018 Bowman Draft rookie card.

Here’s a look at him in action:

At 6-3, 180 pounds he’s still lacking professional strength. He has been putting on some weight and muscle the past few seasons. Now 22, fans and collectors can expect to see him in the majors in the next two years. He’s close, he just needs a bit more development.
